Client Testimonials

Dear Helen,

We would like to sincerely thank you for providing Family Birth Services in Grand Prairie. Our recent experience was nothing short of amazing. We, as a family, felt welcome and at home. The intern and midwives, Lana, Molly, and April, were incredible! They were informative, comforting, supportive, and encouraging. Not to mention efficient, professional, and very well trained.

In choosing to have natural childbirth we were shown personal attention and emotional support at every step along the way in a comfortable, relaxed setting. We were also so grateful to have our baby remain with us after the birth instead of him being rushed away to a sterile nursery. From prenatal care to many home visits by Lana after the birth you have truly allowed this to be everything that we hoped it would be.

Family Birth Services not only provides a uniquely beautiful experience for parents, but also does so in a way, which is generally unavailable in a typical hospital setting. My wife and I feel that Grand Prairie and the North Texas area are indeed fortunate and blessed to have your facility and the many services that it provides.

We sincerely thank you for making the birth of our son, Cody, the most beautiful event that we have been blessed to experience.

Again, thank you.

"After having had the hospital experience (epidural, episiotomy, pitocin-induced contractions), I became very interested in going a different route the second time around. It only occurred to me after I allowed the doctor to call all the shots and perform one unnecessary procedure after another that I truly felt robbed of the whole experience of childbirth!! Family Birth Services offered so much more than I could have hoped for: Comprehensive prenatal care, out-of-this-world childbirth classes, and most importantly, a midwife who truly cared about ALL my needs as an expecting mother.

The birth itself was indescribably beautiful. After all the preparation I felt I knew exactly what was going on with my body, and I didn't fear the increasingly intense contractions, but was able to embrace the steps my body was taking to bring our baby into the world. For any woman who has ever considered natural childbirth, I urge you, don't let society's stigmas cheat you out of your God-given right as a woman to experience the exhilaration of this beautiful gift!"

"From the first time we visited the birth center, we knew it was the perfect place for us to have our baby. Each visit was a pleasure and our excitement of the birth grew. The attitude of the staff towards pregnancy and birth was so easygoing and joyful that we were completely relaxed in each stage of the pregnancy.

The birth itself was everything good that we expected and more. The midwives and interns were so cheerful in catering to us that it made the day fun. I knew things were going great by the smile on my husband's face; he knew I was being perfectly taken care of and enjoying it so he was free to relax and enjoy the birth as well. Everything was done according to our wishes from taking videos to my husband helping to catch the baby.

We were all treated so well, even the baby's newborn check before we went home was done with absolute gentleness. Every detail of our experience was truly wonderful. We are already looking forward to doing it again."

"Due to some personal differences with the hospital I planned to deliver at, I transferred to a midwife from my ob/gyn three days after my due date . . . As it turned out, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made . . . They helped me stay focused when I was ready to give in. And in the end, we had a beautiful, healthy 8 pound 9 ounce son . . . My husband and I both highly recommend Family Birth Services to anyone seeking a natural, supportive, and safe environment to have their children."

Family Birth Services is like a part of our extended family. Not only have each of our 5 boys been delivered by their loving hands (Helen, April, and Sorani), but I have known Helen since I was 10 years old. I "assisted" the birth of my sister, Hannah, when she was born. Since then, I attended my baby brother's birth when I was 18 years old. I remember after that day, I knew I would one day LOVE to be a labor and delivery nurse, or so I thought. At that time, the only births I had witnessed were with Helen delivering. I went on to nursing school and greatly anticipated my L&D rotation. Much to my surprise, it was not anything like a home birth. So, I decided, there is a time and place for medical intervention, but natural midwifery care was what I desired. So, I ended up pursuing pediatric nursing and LOVED it. Fast forward to my first pregnancy, I immediately knew Helen was the one to call! Her care, and the care of all her staff, was what impressed me the most. Since, I have become so bonded with the entire staff. Lord willing, I can't imagine having my babies under anyone else's care. My sister has gone on to have all her children with Amy Allred. She has been there during a very tragic loss of my sister's firstborn (preterm delivery) in the hospital. She then visited Hannah while on bedrest in the hospital with her second child. And, thankfully, delivered that baby at home with no complications. She was so devoted to Hannah and our family that I will never forget it. Since, she has delivered their third baby at home with no complications. We are so grateful.

Also, my brother and his wife lost their first baby due to a rare birth defect. Helen and April were there with them through it all, even the delivery in the hospital. April and Sorani have since delivered their other three babies at home. Their unimaginable love and concern for this family has been more than any of us could ask for. The prenatal and postnatal care has been wonderful, too. We know they are only a phone call away for various questions and support. I could just go on and on about these precious ladies. Just know that the Lord has given them each a gift for caring for mothers, babies, and the rest of the family. I trust their wisdom implicitly.
